The Challenge

The challenge was creating a bathroom that felt elevated without making the relatively compact space feel busy.

Hall bathrooms need to work hard—they serve guests, family members, and everyday routines—so the design needed to balance durability and function with a more sophisticated aesthetic.

The solution was to resist the temptation to add more. Instead, the design focused on getting the proportions, materials, transitions, and details right.

Design Decisions

The design was intentionally restrained.

Instead of introducing numerous competing finishes, we focused on a smaller group of materials and allowed each one to have a clear role. Texture and subtle variation provide visual interest without overwhelming the room.

The result is a bathroom where the details reveal themselves gradually rather than demanding attention immediately.

That restraint is ultimately what gives the space its character.

Why “STILL”

The name comes from the feeling of the finished space.

Stillness. Calm. Simplicity.

The bathroom doesn't try to be the loudest room in the house. It creates a moment of pause through warm materials, clean lines, and a deliberately quiet palette.

STILL is a reminder that good design doesn't always need to make a statement.

Sometimes the strongest statement is knowing when to stop.
